About Allison

I know what it’s like to feel like you don’t belong.

Growing up in rural South Dakota, I spent years struggling with depression, anxiety, and a sense that I was somehow "wrong." For a long time, I channeled that pain into impulsive and self-destructive choices, feeling like I was just drifting without a map.

Everything changed when I became a mother. I realized I didn't just want to "get by"—I wanted to heal. That journey led me to earn my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and eventually discover Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Finding DBT was the "lightbulb moment" I had been searching for. It didn't just give me a career; it gave me the tools to change my own life. Today, I specialize in working with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) because I recognize the struggle, the labels, and the exhaustion of feeling misunderstood. I’m here to tell you that there is hope, and more importantly, there are skills that work.

When I’m not in "therapist mode," You’ll find me rockhounding, getting lost in Lord of the Rings or Doctor Who, and enjoying life with my husband and two daughters.
